Earth System Science research based on a historical tradition
ROCS is a research centre launched by the Carlsberg Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Iceland and Rannís. In addition to pursuing scientific goals, the aim is to strengthen the long-standing research collaboration between Denmark and Iceland through partnerships. The centre‘s interdisciplinary research provides cutting-edge understanding of entire ecosystems, how they have varied through tens of thousands of years in relation to climate change, and to understand human-biosphere interactions.
A virtual centre
The centre‘s roots lie at the University of Iceland and the University of Copenhagen that hosts those employed directly by ROCS.
